I’ve set up a few PC’s with the SETI@home client, and at one point a handful of SPARC servers in an integration lab I worked at.  All in all I helped post about 19,000 data ‘packets’, and helped a friend climb to the top (80th overall) of Art Bells’ SETI Group.  In that time I often wondered ‘what if?…’

I suppose that for me it;s not a question of if, but rather a question of then what?! I’m pretty convinced we’re not alone, but if for a moment you assume that the lifeforms are intelligent, then they most be avoiding us, right?!

So for me, I would rather we just leave them alone.

In my best Jewish mother voice: “If they wanted to talk to you they would call you. Leave them poor people alone!”
